ideas.
2. 3-5 sketches (manual/digital) of your own ideas
3. Final design in A4 size, JPEG
4. A rationale, in about 150-200 words, explaining/defending the
decisions made in your design, the meaning/purpose of the design and the

Rationale
The design seeks to confront the viewer with the stark realities of climate change, using the poignant symbol of a polar bear set against an industrial backdrop. This contrast is deliberate, emphasizing the impact of human industrialization on nature. The polar bear, a species directly threatened by global warming, stands as a sentinel over a cityscape that represents the cause of its habitat’s destruction. The red backdrop serves as an alarming call to action, urging immediate attention to the climate crisis.
In adhering to design principles, the visual hierarchy is established through the size and placement of the polar bear, drawing the eye to the most critical element of the composition. Contrast is achieved not only through color but also through the thematic juxtaposition of the natural and the man-made. Balance is maintained by the equal visual weight of the bear and the cityscape, symbolizing the delicate balance of our ecosystem.
This design is not merely an artistic expression but a mobilizing force, intended to inspire change and provoke discussion about sustainable living and the urgent need for climate action. It is a visual manifesto, calling on all to acknowledge the role of human activity in climate change and to commit to preserving the delicate balance of our planet.
