REFLECTIONS

Experience

I've learned through this semester's typography lesson that typography is not what I initially thought. I've learned from this class that it's important to do research and actually learn typography rather than just listening to the lecture. The fundamentals of typography, such as type anatomy, letter spacing, kerning, leading, and hierarchy, were covered in-depth as the weeks went on. Our typography lesson stressed the value of intellectual thought and creativity in addition to the technical parts. We were pushed to explore unique layouts, novel compositions, and typographic expressions that communicated abstract ideas in order to push the boundaries of conventional type. The teacher's teaching was also very detailed and would let us list the points that were not clear. We were urged to use critical thinking, follow our creative inclinations, and take calculated chances with our designs during these exercises.

Observations

In typography, I developed a keen awareness of the subtle forms and shapes of individual letterforms and observed how even the smallest change can radically affect the personality and mood of a typeface. In addition, I started to understand how carefully positive and negative space interact, realising how doing so may significantly affect a design's legibility and overall composition.I learn how to using the software that didn't explore it before.Typography emphasises what we can create and learn about it, which distinguishes it significantly from the other modules. We were aggressively encouraged to question the norms and investigate novel typographic approaches.

Findings

I learned during this 14-week semester of classes that I am not particularly good at noticing the details. It was difficult for me, despite my best efforts, to concentrate on the subtleties of typography and to carry out accurate letter spacing, kerning, and leading. I tried to improve my focus on the details during the assignments for class. But I frequently found it difficult to get the appropriate level of precision. Sometimes I would miss minor typographical or alignment issues until Mr. Vinod or my fellow classmates pointed them out during feedback session. My path of engaging in design work has enhanced my understanding of the delicate balance between artistic expression and adherence to design standards as well as increased my awareness of the significance of detail. I've been able to produce designs that embody accuracy, craftsmanship, and aesthetic sophistication thanks to this transforming experience.
